Is Camilla pregnant or not?

Her belly kept getting bigger and bigger, until one day we spotted a bright red dot under her tail. We immediately pulled out our camel guidebook and read that this dot appears about two weeks before birth. Wow, that was so exciting!

And then, exactly two weeks later on a Sunday morning at seven o'clock, the guard called me on my mobile: "Mama, something is sticking out the back of the camel!"

I’ve rarely run so fast. Sure enough, there stood Camilla in her enclosure—with a black head and two front legs sticking out from her rear. With the next contraction, my son Tobias pulled on the front legs, and suddenly the beautiful, dark-grey camel girl was lying on the ground. She looked well-nourished, very healthy, and was wobbling her head awkwardly. We estimated her weight at 50 kg and named her Emily.

Within a short time, Emily got up and started to nurse from her mother Camilla. Then she jumped around awkwardly and curiously, snuggled up to us, and looked out into the world looking truly happy. Her fur was the softest thing we had ever petted. A bundle of joy and energy was ready to explore the world. We praise the Creator for this wonderful gift!

P.S.: Camel milk, by the way, is really delicious and very healthy…
