Farming God’s Way
Farming God’s way consists of three main components:
Biblical Foundation:
This imparts a steadfast attitude that equips an individual to overcome the curse of poverty in their life.
Agricultural Techniques and Measures:
This component encompasses the methods and practices of farming as aligned with God’s principles.
Effective Management Pillars:
This ensures success in our endeavors through sound management practices.
All three components are interconnected, forming a comprehensive agricultural system by God’s way.
THE BENEFITS
Here, we illustrate the benefits with an example. In 2017, we prepared three plots of equal size:
The first plot was managed using agriculture by God’s way.
The second plot employed modern agricultural methods.
The third plot followed indigenous agricultural practices.
All three plots were planted with peanuts in a single day, just before the rains began in November. Subsequently, it rained for a period before stopping again for an extended time.
After the rains ceased throughout December, the modern and indigenous plots produced very poor yields—the peanuts were almost completely dried up—except for the plot managed by God’s way, where the peanuts did not suffer from sun damage as they did in the other two plots. When harvest time arrived, the yields were as follows:
The modern agriculture plot yielded one bundle of peanuts.
The indigenous agriculture plot produced one 10-litre container.
The plot managed by God’s way yielded three bundles.
Why such a high yield in the plot managed by God’s way?
This is because in that plot, we cover the crops with what we call the “God’s blanket”, a protective layer of mulch that the other plots did not receive. Here are some of the benefits of the “God’s blanket”:
It retains moisture in your soil.
It enhances soil quality and fertility.
It promotes beneficial insects that help improve your soil.
