The sad chameleon
It was a quiet relaxed Saturday morning. We sat in the kitchen and joyfully sipped world’s best coffee. In front of the window we saw brightly colored nectar birds competing to drink sweet nectar from a blossom. There - what was that? It looked like the shadow of a chameleon. We went closer to the window and tried to capture what we were seeing. There was an extremely pale, gray-green chameleon sitting on a thin edge of a branch and looking extremely dry and sad. We had never seen anything like it. Was it already dead, or was it still alive? Why was it so big, so fat, and looked so gray and dead? It didn't move a bit. Tobias ran out to take a closer look. Yes, it was a chameleon - just before the birth of her young. She looked so tired and sad and yet she was very close to experiencing the greatest miracle of her life. She was not moving, immobile, gray and looked so infinitely sad, although the most beautiful thing that had ever happened to her would soon happen.
