Comparison fields

"What the farmer doesn't know, he doesn't eat!" It is always said. I can't say whether that's true, but what is certainly true is that it's difficult for African smallholders, who struggle to survive every year anyway, to try out new agricultural techniques just for the sake of it, I know that. That's why we have comparison fields on our farm where we try out and compare different farming methods side by side: the traditional method on the left, modern farming methods in the middle, and "Farming God's Way" on the right, a regenerative farming method based on biblical principles. We use the same seeds, plant on the same day, use the same amount of fertilizer (cow manure), and water (in the dry season) the same amount. Then we compare what grows better, and where there are the better crops. So far, Farming God's Way has always won out over other methods. We harvest, on average, double to triple what we harvest in traditional comparison fields. More corn, more peanuts, more and bigger sweet potatoes and cassava roots, etc. We harvested sweet potatoes as big as heads, and cassava roots as thick as forearms! By allowing visitors to our farm to see and compare the fields for themselves, they are also more willing to try the techniques we teach them. In this way, we hope to help as many people as possible in Tanzania and beyond achieve food security for their families.
