The sheep and me

I was most looking forward to the sheep when I came to the farm. Everyone has their own favourite animal, and mine are sheep. This animal may not look like a human, but it is very similar to us. Sheep behave almost the same in a herd as humans do in a group. Both are kind of laid back, and both sometimes fight about some unimportant things. Both have their groups and both have their favourite things in life. Sheep cannot live alone and are very dependent on other sheep. If a sheep falls on its back, which fortunately almost never happens, it often does not manage to get back on its hooves. They then need to be helped by their shepherd, who finds and rescues them. But if you accidentally spook one sheep, you spook the whole flock and they run or walk away. I had a different idea of herding sheep. I thought you always had a lot to do, always have to keep an eye on the sheep and plan where the sheep should go next. But it is not like that. There are (sometimes quite lengthy) moments, where you don't have to do anything and can just watch the sheep grazing. You might have the feeling that you have to do something – but you don't. Just checking from time to time to see if everything is
