Two weeks ago, we got the sad news that our beloved co-worker Mgaya had gone to be with Jesus. Oh, what a blessing he was to our ministry!
Five years ago Mzee Mgaya came to join our ministry. At this time he had a lot of pain from a long ago accident and his feet and tummy were filled with water.
He had little hope for his body and also little hope for the land he was living on. I remember him passing by, when we started to plant the first peanuts. He told us that on this land no peanut would ever grow.
How surprised he was, when he saw that through Farming God’s Way techniques, we harvested an amazing huge amount of peanuts. He was also a political figure and when he saw our success, he was eager to learn what we did differently.
He became one of our best workers and started off as a guard (2 years), worked as an area keeper (1 year) and when we figured that our sheep love him the most, he became our shepert for the last two years.
During his time with us, he got to know Jesus and gave his heart to him. From that moment on, he always wanted to sing his favourite song which goes like this; "I have peace in my heart, when I go to heaven, because Jesus has clothed me with his righteousness.” He slept deep and peacefully, when Jesus took his hand and went with him to heaven. We, as the Care of Creation Tanzania team, are very sad, because we miss him daily. But we are also sure that he is at real peace at last. With great love for him, we pray that his family will be blessed and comforted through this time of grieve.
