Car problem, and God’s cheap solution
Recently, Tobias took our car to the garage for a service. When he picked it up, the car suddenly had no power at all and could barely make it up the hill near the workshop. So he turned around to have them take another look at it. The result: a defective turbo. The cost estimate for a new turbo: the equivalent of €4,000! Where to get that kind of money? Better ask God. So we wrote a prayer email and asked our friends to pray with us for a solution.
Shortly afterwards, one of our friends got in touch whose father is a mechanic and who repairs his own cars in his spare time. He asked about the exact symptoms. His diagnosis: the turbo was (most likely) not broken at all, but just dirty, with the vanes jammed by soot. The therapy: drive for half an hour at nearly 4,000 RPM to get the turbo really hot and soften the dirt, and then do some "turbo gymnastics"—meaning shifting up and down alternately at high and low revs to move the vanes back and forth.
We did that twice, and voilà! The car works again, even better than before. Thank you, Jesus! And, of course, thanks to our friend too… ! ;-)
