New Office Chairs

We had been feeling the need to get chairs for our smaller office for a long time. A lot of prayer and investigation followed. As you can imagine, sometimes it is not that easy to find suitable and affordable office chairs in an African city that is just getting out of the dust of poverty. We looked around and were surprised and also frustrated that most of what was sold was either broken already or very costly. One day, as we investigated in town again, we found five office chairs that nearly met our needs: Very comfortable and also not too expensive. The only drawback was that we could not find “sustainable office chairs” anywhere. Yes, you are right,- we could have asked a carpenter. BUT: Wood is VERY expensive and the quality of the production is still way behind any expectation that you would have, when you need to sit on the chair for 8 hours a day. Therefore,- we praise the Lord that we got, what we got, and we do pray that wood production and carpentry work starts to develop in a way that makes it possible to buy sustainable office chairs. Thanks for helping to finance those 5 chairs and thank you so much for your prayers. The manager’s chair just broke a few days ago and she is looking for a solution in the upcoming weeks to either fix it sustainably or get a new one - maybe this time a sustainable one. You can see that sustainability is needed in every area of life, but is not easy to achieve if society and economy don’t grasp the importance of this. Pray with us for that!
